TITAN WAVE (#7526)

The glasses were returned after a week, which was amazing as my wife and I had presumed they were gone. Even more amazing is these seemingly weak looking glasses survived the beatings that the swimming pool dealt, and deserve a good write up by myself and I decided to post this on Silhouette Stories which is the URL for the company and their testimonials. They truly stood up well, and have been one of my favourite purchases to date:
I purchased my Titan Wave glasses a few years ago, as I had been wearing contacts for over 10 years and they were beginning to irritate my eyes at my job. Sitting in front of the computer for 8+ hours a day is already a poor environment for yours eyes and adding dry contacts on top, makes it frustrating. I had never wanted to get glasses as nothing ever suited my face; however I finally gave in and purchased a cheap brand. After breaking the frames twice in 6 months I decided to invest in a quality brand.I have to point out that the one flaw on the Titan Wave design is that the titanium band scratches the top of the lenses due to there being no protection between metal and plastic. I'm not sure if I have poly lenses or if its just plastic, so that could be a lot to do with it. All in all, these are great glasses and the Silhouette brand is cutting edge in both quality and design when it comes to minimal designs and rimless eyeglasses. After purchasing my Silhouette Titan Waves (7526) I had found a brand I am willing to stick with for life. They are virtually indestructible and incredibly light, to the point where I sometimes fling them off my face when gesticulating my hands in a speech! I forget they are there as they are truly "minimal art".
The greatest testament I can give to the Silhouette brand is despite these glasses consisting of one single band of titanium they are incredibly durable. Not only have I knocked them off my face onto cement, I have slept in them and woken up with them underneath me! However, the greatest testament was last week and that is what made me submit this story.
I was in a large public swimming pool with my 2 year old and my wife, and as my wife is pregnant she was sitting out the waves. The wave machine was crashing into us, and I was holding my son when he decided to hit my face as a large wave came in. I did not have on any elastics or devices to keep them wrapped on (despite them staying on many times I have gone swimming, the physical swipe was too much); they flung off my face and into the water.
Due to them being minimal art, I was not able to grab them in time for the wave machines sucked them away, and I could not see them! I was very upset and although we all looked for an hour they could not be found in the 10,000+ gallon public pool. I had resigned that my favourite glasses were now destined to be lost forever.
Until a week later, with my wife persistently calling the pool, they were turned in. This tiny one band of titanium glasses, with plastic frames held without screws were returned. I was expecting them to be damaged, scratched, bent, or somehow misshapen. I got them back and to my surprise did not even need adjustments. They are sitting atop my nose perfectly straight as I type this!
If that isn't a perfect example of how great Silhouette makes their products, I don't know what is. They had the following against them: 10,000 gallons, people treading on them, scraping along cement floors, sucked through piping, etc for an entire week in a chlorine filled pool (that probably has 500 guests a day). And they survived, in tact, and ready to perch on my face again.
Thanks Silhouette for truly making a fantastic quality product.
